. Most of them required you to plug something in and out of an outlet if you wanted to use it. I was afraid they would get lost, someone would forget to put them back in, or the child would snatch the small insert and put it in their mouth. This design stood out as a much better design than the others. You can't forget anything as it resets as soon as you unplug it. The process required to plug something into an electrical outlet is complex enough that children cannot perform it, but simple enough not to cause inconvenience to adults. Initially I only changed the outlets in the main part of the house where the kids play, but I ordered more to replace all the outlets to make sure there were no accidents. I read some reviews that said they had problems with the socket being too deep and the plug not getting power. Our house was built in 1995 and we didn't have this problem. My only complaint is that they don't make a version that supports GFCI sockets.
