Works Great: Shortwave Radios

I've been a licensed amateur radio operator since the 1970's. Used equipment from that time to the present day. Some worked well, others didn't work at all. This radio tuned in to foreign stations, ham radio and SSB/CW using the standard antenna in my living room. So, compared to the TECSUN model that I bought and got my price back. Here's what impressed me about the radio: It works great on the AM/FM bands. A real advantage in an emergency. -- Establishes NOAA weather channels, which is also great for emergency weather situations. -- Automatically selects USB/LSB on amateur frequencies. -- Automatic tuning of amateur radio frequencies with the push of a button. --- Equipped with a one-button fine-tuning function, making it easy to tune SSB/CW. -- Comes with case, external antenna and headphones. -- Has a built-in charging input (mini-USB) for charging additional batteries. -- Same price as other radios that don't work. -- Small compared to the radios sold here, but much larger. Here's the thing, post Covid I became sort of a doomsday preparer. For me it's not a job, it's just a lot of common sense to believe that there will be another virus. We weathered the storms with nothing for emergencies, and we suffered from them. After that we spent money to be prepared and now we have achieved almost all of our goals: to have everything at home in an emergency and to take it with us when escaping the Florida storms. This radio will / has become part of one of the few bags that we can take and take with us. Be prepared, be prepared, hope for the best, plan for the worst if it ever happens. It took us a few years to prepare, but then you're READY. This radio will be a vital channel of information when the worst of the storm hits. Looks like they're coming. Call it climate change or global warming, but the shift in what is happening is obvious. Be ready!
