Review on Enhance Your Audio Experience with the Dell AC511 USB Wired SoundBar by Amy Lindsey

Revainrating 5 out of 5

An UNSHIELDED speaker keeps squeaking and driving you crazy (eventually) when plugged into a USB monitor.

Actually I would give at least 4 stars - the sound is very good and it is compatible with my good expensive Dell monitor (bracket at the bottom) which is what I wanted - no extra power cord or cables for mine Laptop. BUT (and this is a big problem) when connected to a monitor (as intended) via a wired USB cable. This speaker makes a CONSTANT deep squeak. guaranteed to have you tearing your eyes out in a few hours. If I connect the same USB cable directly to the computer. the task is solved. But I really didn't want to add anything to the bundle of cables running through my desk. I'll live with that, but boo dell. FYI: Workaround according to several (including Dell) online forums: Wrap your new speaker in aluminum foil. Yes folks, the speaker is clearly not properly shielded. which is just stupid. I refuse to install a new Dell speaker that should be compatible with my new Dell monitor. Dell should fix this immediately. Poor build quality that could have been avoided. #DellFail
