Ball came out; Kittens are bored again

I got this for two active 6 month old kittens. They loved it when I turned it on! They loved it so much, in fact, that they managed to get the ball out of the unit and lose it within 2 hours. Sigh. This toy is a pink plastic box with a rotating fuzzy fabric tail and a catnip ball that the tail pushes around inside the plastic housing. The description says "guilt operation”, and the motor is quiet, I’ll give them that. But when the ball is in the housing, it’s fairly noisy as it rolls around. But the noise isn’t a problem for me anymore, since the kittens figured out how to get the ball out. I was disappointed with that - I presumed the ball would stay in the toy, as it was meant to. The power switch is a little invisible button on the bottom of the outside wall of the box, not easy to find. I was thinking about coloring it with a marker so I can actually see it. But with the ball gone, the kittens just look at the rotating tail and then wander away.Bottom line - this has the potential to be a great toy, but as it is currently designed, it was a waste of my money. Two paws down.
