I wanted to try and make the switch to mostly rechargeable batteries. Part of that was this purchase, but I also bought more EBL and other brand batteries. I began charging the EBL 2800 mAh batteries which came with the charger. But they only reached 80% capacity according to my tester. I then charged 2000 mAh ebay brand batteries which according to the same tester had 100% charge and more juice than the much more expensive EBL batteries. In fact, I have 10+ year old NiMH batteries which still pack as much charge as these brand new EBLs. So I was very disappointed - I had planned to use the EBL 2800 mAh batteries for my more demanding applications. I was pleased to see this charger had a "discharge" feature, and that each of the 8 slots were independent. However, there were no instructions for how to utilize this discharge feature. When should discharge be used? How does it affect battery life and performance? I couldn't find this on the EBL website either. So I think I may have gotten some bad EBL batteries. And while I like the charger overall so far, I feel like it needs better instructions.
