I had bought a new mattress that was supposed to have a top layer of cooling gel. When you touch the surface of the mattress- it is cool to the touch but it sleeps hot. I woke up hot every night since the mattress came until I got this. My previous mattress was a king and my new one is a queen- so I came looking for something to fix my problem. This did it :) Now I sleep through the night. I don't even know this is on except for the fact that I don't get too hot at night anymore :) I've had other waterproof mattress covers that haven't fit well, been loose or have been thick and lumpy. This fits well and keeps my foam top layer from making me hot.
