Inexpensive but useful

I bought this needle set as an inexpensive replacement for the needles I was previously using. They were nickel plated and at 42 I didn't know I was allergic to nickel. While my knitting got much better and my good new needles shone, my hands were flaky, cracked and bleeding. So after donating my sequins to a lucky new knitter, I bought them. They are tested nickel free. The ends tend to be blunter than they used to be and I see a potential problem with lace knitting. The smallest yarn I currently use is 2.25mm thick yarn. I personally had no problems. And I'd rather not try to pierce my fingertip with every stitch. I went through and measured each and labeled everything in millimeters, not Asian sizes. Going back to metric has saved a lot of headaches of translating to other knitters on forums etc. Also, there's plenty of room for size difference in the smaller US sizes. Currently I have the sizes 5mm (6), 4.5mm (7), 4mm (8), 3.5mm (9), 3.25mm (10), 2.75mm (11), 2 .5mm (12), 2.25mm (13) selected. . ), 2mm (14), (15) and (16). 15 and 16 are not measured because my instrument was not that small. You're pretty thin. The cables are plastic-coated and quite flexible. Connections are mostly gradual, with a slight problem when you get to very small sizes. I could see where this in turn can cause problems with lace knitting. At the point where the cable connects to the needle, the needle descends a little by about 1.5 cm. I found this odd and thought it would bother me as the needles in my hands need to be aligned so that the fall complements the fall of my pinky finger. Not so. The flexibility of the cable combined with the cable's natural spiral ensured that this was not a problem. In fact, after initial testing/supercritical evaluation of these needles, I had no idea. The case itself is vinyl and is not impressive. Still, trying to minimize space while still keeping 11 circular needles is very effective. It's about the size of a stuffed wallet with a clever little latch to keep it closed. And the vinyl appears to be of a quality that won't crack or tear without the help of heat and time. The front has a hook for a plastic tapestry needle (yes, nickel free!) (one end 3.25mm and the other 2.25mm). For my two cents, it's definitely worth double the price. Not a dime, no ripped hands, feels better than plastic, elastic cords. What's not to like about these needles. I actually received it in 80 cm length.
