Initial impression: I carefully took it out of its plastic bag to make sure that if a button falls off, that I would not lose it. No buttons fell off. I carefully detached the push buttons and no buttons fell off. Phew!I then carefully proceeded to test common complain #2. Smell. I carefully gave it a Joe Biden hair sniff and it smelled like leather. OK. I put it on my bare skin. No shirt or undershirt. It feels comfertable.The smell started to slowly intensify. Now about an hour or two later, it really smells like some soft of fuel. I tried to think of what this odor smells like, and the thought made me sneeze (once).That's it for now, kids. I will update as I go alone. One clear conclusion though, I can live with the smell for now, but definitely don't sit on a sofa or go to bed with it. I'm afraid the smell will transfer to whatever you sit or lie on.I don't know if I can wash it, or maybe hang it out in the sun (it's winter now) for the smell to evaporate.Hopefully I will come back for updates as I gain more experience with this. This is my first welding "jacket". Maybe I should take it on a ride on my bike. But I don't have a bike any more.
