Large memory foam that is more gradual ramp than steps, which is what my elderly cat with arthritis needs to get up and down the couch comfortably. Once the memory foam regains its shape from shipping, the cover is easy to place over the foam. Looks like it'll be easy to wash and dry. Extra touch: They sent a lint roller to remove the pet hair. If you're looking for more of a gradual, larger ramp (as opposed to steps), then this fits the bill.Suggestion: If your pet is averse to using it at first, just place treats up and down the ramp occasionally. Only took a few days of that for my cat to use it regularly and no longer needs treats to entice them.
